This really is not my best year ever. Because, y'know. All about me.

Before I even get going, I'm jumping to the end. Everything is (almost certainly) fine, and no one is spending the night at the hospital. We are home, we are sleeping, we are much, MUCH better than we were just under 24 hours ago.

That said, we spent most of the day at the hospital with the Frog. )

the monkey, aliens, i am canadian, not enough pepsi in the world, the academic husband, rl, sick, the frog, family, state of the jay, canada

ACK! If either of my kids woke up like that, I'd freak out too. And the word meningitis...yeah. That sounds like a very scary day.

I'm glad everybody's okay. Whew.

Yeah... she didn't really have a choice but to mention it, since it has been in town, and they needed to know if there'd been any cases at his daycare, because that could assist with their diagnostic stuff, but GOOD GRIEF.

Better than the ER doc who was being all somber faced and using the words 'high white cell count' and 'sinister'. Dude. Know something, then tell the mama. Honestly.

He's doing well now--really well, and thank goodness. I think my heart's back to normal... mostly.

Oh yikes! *big hugs* What a scary day!

And the night terrors - our boy had them big time for his first two years and then they tapered off (and pretty quickly too). *more hugs*

Take care of yourself. x

My sister had night terrors too... somehow we hadn't really clued in that we were dealing with the same thing until the doctor pointed it out. Both of them do it too, so, well. Awesome. Hopefully they'll fade out.

It was a stupid, crazy scary day, and I think my heart is still doing the rapid fire pounding thing. He's doing great now, so I think I can finally let my guard down.

*hugs back*

He's doing really well now, but Oh. My. Stars.

CHILD. Stop taking years off your mother's life!
