You're surprisingly precise (one might say picky) about the way your food is prepared, especially for a fast food restaurant. Does this come from when you used to work at a McDonalds?

The way I see it, if you're going to claim your food is great, then I expect it to be great. I talked about the McChicken sandwich. It's a dollar. I don't expect it to be great, and it isn't. But it's not bad. It's worth the money you spend on it.

The classic "premium chicken sandwich" I had was $3.29. (The club and ranch were $3.69.) For that much, I expect it to be that much better than a $0.99 sandwich. It wasn't. Three McChickens would have been a much better use of my money.

I'm not harsh on McDonald's because I worked there. I've had the McGriddles once, it was pretty good. (In fact, I think McDonald's is a good quick choice for breakfast, even though I think Burger King's better. I worked at Burger King, too, you remember.) I'm harsh on McDonald's because they seem to be laboring under the impression (or tricking people into believing, take your pick) their food is good when in fact almost all their competitors do something, if not everything they do better ( ... )
