The movie was actually a remake of another movie, an Italian grindhouse type from 1978 called "Quel maledetto treno blindato ( ... )

I agree with the character development. I wanted to see more back stories and more texture. I also felt like the characters were way too cold, in feeling and in action.

Are you a Tarantino fan? Or more a fan of movies and movie lore?

Not a big tarantino fan. I like his movies in the way they all are in some clever way linked to each other through character names. even ones he just wrote like true romance or Natural Born Killers.
I think what I like about him is we both have the same taste in a lot of movies. Esepcially old westerns, exploitation movies, Kung-fu and especially in the ways of Japanese horror like Miike Takashi (Audition, Ichi the Killer)
I am more a general movie fan. I never finished in it but I took 3 years of film theory in Uni which was the most stressful fun I ever had writing essay after essay on movies.

and yes those are the Venture Twins that we know and love.
