Did you read the article about her husband's death in the New York Times magazine recently? Very insightful, sad, quirky observations -- she accurately captures the experience of an unexpected death of a loved one. She mentioned her daughter in the ICU but did not say that she had died as it was an excerpt from her book. I read a portion of Slouching towards Bethlehem (sp?) in SW School and found it a little obtuse but had substantial meaning in many ways. I need to read it again...
we're so twins -- i discovered Obama's podcasts too.
remember when my doctor put me on cholesterol medication a few years ago? it was the medication that later got banned. anyway, i remember the no-grapefruit rule for that one too. so strange. makes me want to eat lots of grapefruit because i wonder what mystical powers it has to disrupt medications.
Can you give me a 4 word review of the Rachel Maddow show? I used to work with some guys who listened to Randy Rhodes non-stop, and I felt like I was listening to fucking Sean Hannity. Enough people seem to like this Rachel Maddow character though. Maybe I will give her show a whirl.

Have you read Political Fictions? It came out sometime within the last few years. I thought it was really, really good.
