I fail epicly at going on LiveJournal regularly. But I do have a little note pad on my desktop where I write things that I want to put in my next entry, so I'm prepared! :D

I love my school, 'cause I was studying in the library the other day and this girl just comes by and gives me a Red Bull "to help me finish my studying." It wasn't just me, she ( Read more... )

Hi darling. Sorry I can't give any advice on the nightmares, as I've never had that problem. But maybe, just try to get better sleeping habits? I've heard that helps. Maybe google it or something.

Also, know that I and a ton of other people really care about you, and we all want you to be safe and happy.

On a lighter note, did you get my facebook message? About the gingerbread cookies?

Mimi I love you so much! --hugs--

And yes I did and I replied with much enthusiasm. :D Did you not get it? Well, whatever the case, the answer is a big yes, that sounds like much fun. I had a mini rant about which dates work better for me... In short, they both work but 18th would be on the safer side. But if the 19th is the only date that works, then it's probably cool for me.

Waking up and being unable to move sounds like sleep paralysis, which is something that (according to wiki) most people will experience a couple of times in their life. The paralysis is a normal part of REM sleep that keeps you from thrashing about with your dreams, but extended into the time that you've woken up. There is a physical explaination, and it doesn't seem likely to happen again, if that helps any.

Sharing it might be the first step to getting past it, actually. I find that when I obsess over things, if I talk about them, it makes it 'real', and easier to get past.

Maybe trying to make a pleasant situation when you go to bed would help? Read a bit of one of your favourite books, have some nice music (a brass ensemble playing softly, if there is such a thing XD), think happy thoughts before falling asleep? I usually go over stories while I'm trying to sleep.

None of this might be any help to you, since I don't often get nightmares, but there we go. Hope you have (had?) a better night sleep.

I'm surprised I didn't consider that meself... Hooray for wiki! I read the whole article and a lot of things matched up with what it was saying, like how it occurred right after a lucid dream and the sense of panic even though I had woken up and I knew it was only a dream...

And you're totally right, sharing it and talking about it helps, 'cause instead of going crazy in my mind about it, I'm talking rationally to people about it and it's comforting. Same with reading the article, it brought new light to the subject.

Although thinking about happy things before I go to bed doesn't work because I never dream about what I was thinking before I went to bed.

But this advice was really good, thank you! I had a better night's sleep. It was still a nightmare, but it wasn't as bad as previous ones, so I'm hoping it'll keep getting better. ^__^

This sounds really lame, but when I have really bad dreams, I often end up falling asleep with my bedside light on. Somehow, being able to see everything in my room makes me feel a lot safer, and more relaxed ( ... )

I'm usually bad with sleeping with the light on, but if it happens again, I won't hesitate to try it. ^__^

I actually used to use herbal strategies to help me get to sleep, because I've had problems sleeping for as long as I can remember. But for some reason I stopped... I should definitely look into it again though, it would at least be comforting. And if it keeps happening after that, I'll look into that website, definitely.

Thank you muchly for your advice, it helps a lot and makes me feel much better about the whole thing. <333
