I want to finish the story of my first paper at Kalamazoo now. To recap: I presented my first paper at the Medieval Congress in Kalamazoo last spring on Merlin.'Yes, the BBC's Merlin. Moving on.

This sounds awesome. A handful of congratulations for writing what sounds like an awesome paper, presenting it to an interested audience, and getting compliments on it! That's quite exciting. Having been out of college for a year and a half now, I think I've forgotten how exciting and FUN academics can be, when you're surrounded by people who love similar subjects and contribute to a supportive atmosphere. Kudos.

The paragraph about what goes on when presenters aren't presenting (preparing and revamping, seeing Spamalot, buying irons) was hilarious. Academia is so wonderfully weird.
