I've read the Twilight books and completely agree with you about them. My stance on them is that they are good, but not the hype "OMG Squeeeee" that everyone thinks they are. Lol If you like her writing though, you might want to try and read the Host. It is more of a scifi book about aliens who inhabbit people, which sounds really bad when I summarize it for you, but the characters are much less annoying. I definitely recommend it.
That book about the crazy husband and the lady on the run sounds really good. You read a loooot of diverse books. That is very impressive.
I also read Unquiet things. I thought I was going to hate it, but I didn't. I thought all the characters were a different brand of stupid, but the book was very good, and the ending made a lot of sense.
9 Highland Road - I loved this book so much when I read it last year. Even more exciting is that I know the town, about 35 minutes from me, but not the street. A Face First - This was kind of mehh to me; and I didn’t like how the big secret was revealed sort of at the end. If We Could Hear the Grass Grow - sounds fascinating. Bloodletting - This one was weird for me too, but I haven’t really found a S.I. memoir that resonates with me yet, as much as I’ve tried. I Can Hear the Morning Dove - Loved this so much. Acting Normal - This was alright to me, too. Willow, by the same author, was loads better, IMO, but wayyyy triggery at points. All Unquiet Things - Interesting story. Skin - Didn’t think it was as amazing as some, but definitely heartwrenching Tropic of Night - Must download this....stat.
I'm so glad you replied! I got the email saying you added me at a point when lj was down or something so I actually forgot to add you back. Sorry!!! Anyways, I will remedy that. :)
