That didn't mean Sam, Professor Winchester, Bridge, Xander, Willow, or Mel were back, though. Damn it.

This sucked out loud.

Luke was getting tired of staring at his walls, so he wandered down the hallway.

"Dawn?" he called softly, tapping on the door.

She walked over to the door and opened it, then went to hug Luke as soon as she realized it was him. "Hi."

"Long week, huh?" he asked quietly, holding on tightly.

[lilpunkinbelly]

"Really long," she hugged him back, burying her face against his shoulder. "How're you?"

"I'm fine," he said, rubbing her back. "And everyone'll be home soon, I promise."

[lilpunkinbelly]

"See, I almost believe it when you say it," she pulled back to smile at him. "Why is that?"

[tatooine_doofus]

"Because I have an honest face?" Luke tried, smiling.

[lilpunkinbelly]

"Only your face?" She teased, giggling. "You should maybe do something about that."

[tatooine_doofus]

Luke stuck his tongue out at her. "Funny. Do think a sign would help?"

[lilpunkinbelly]

"Yes. But a hat would be better."

[tatooine_doofus]

"Think they'd have one down at Turtle's?" he asked.

[lilpunkinbelly]

"I think that if they didn't have one, you could probably convince Turtle to make one for you, as long as you were going to buy it," she decided.

Then she realized they were still standing in the doorway. "Want to come in?"

"Sure," Luke said with a shy smile. "It's much better than sitting by myself waiting for Jo to come back."

"This waiting thing sucks," she declared, moving out of the way so he could come in. "Any idea when she'll be back?"

He shook his head. "Or my father, but I'm guessing he'll go straight up to Rory's. He's so lucky I'm okay dogsitting."

"You doing any better with that?" Dawn asked sitting down on her bed. Scout raised his head, sniffed, and promptly went back to sleep. "Your dad getting married, I mean?"
