Rikku looked over at Dawn. "You ... you really think so? Maybe that's what I did wrong, last time. I wasn't trying to figure out where he was, just call him back here if he was anywhere."
"Yeah, if you're messing with dimensions, it's good to be as specific as possible, so you don't rip a huge hole in all the dimensions. Kinda like having the right phone number," Dawn decided.
Rikku nodded. "Whoa. You know a lot about this. Have you had to, uh, move people before? Or is that nosy?" She laughed. "I should have asked around more first, huh?"
"Really?" Rikku's eyes lit up a bit. "Like, how to do them without, uh. The blood magic thing? I mean, can you, without that kinda ritual? Because ... that was seriously scary and I don't think I should try that again, yeouch."
Rikku stared at Dawn, taking a few seconds for all of this to sink in. "You mean you know ... you might be able to ... you ..."
She looked at her hands, taking a shaky breath. "I-I can't ask you that. To try that. It's ... it's dangerous and y-you could get hurt, and ... I can't."
"You're not asking, I'm offering," Dawn pointed out, rubbing little circles into Rikku's back, "and I won't do it if it's too dangerous, okay? No ending the world, I promise."
Rikku swallowed hard, then nodded. "You ... You mean it? I ... Okay. N-nothing scary, yeah? If you ... and this person ... can really make a p-portal, then ... okay, what do I do? Look into the dreaming thing, or ..."
She took a breath, and then threw her arms around Dawn and squeezed. "Thank you. I ... I can't ... thank you."
"Oof." Dawn tried to breathe, but it was almost an issue. "You're welcome, and really, I'm not promising anything. You need to try and remember everything you can about where your friend ended up. Draw a picture, or write it out, talk to your friends if you have to--we're going to need as clear an idea of who and what we're looking for as possible."
Rikku let go quickly. "Sorry! Sorry, I, uh." And dabbed at her eyes. No reason.
"Sorry. Yeah. No, I mean, I know you aren't, but ... it's so wonderful of you to try. And I think I can get some of his stuff from home, would that help? Like, his weapon, mementos? I don't know if I have any pictures. I ... there might be a sphere recording. I'll ask Yunie. If I can think of a good excuse." She shook her head. "I'm not telling her why. Not for any of this."
"How can I even ..." She bit her lip. "I don't think 'I owe you one' covers this, exactly."
Rikku nodded again, still reeling a bit. "Yeah. She doesn't know anything about last week and I ... I can't do that to her. But I'll think of something. And ... that's ... you don't know what that means to me. To her. Except I guess you do, huh? Part of club membership." She thought for a long moment. "Promise me ... if you ever need a favor, blowing stuff up or something big or something little, that you'll come knock on my door?"
Rikku stood, then stooped to give Dawn another quick hug. "I. Thank you. I should go, look into things, and see if I can ... yeah. Do you want more cookies? Before I go?" She held the container out again.

"You don't owe me anything, Rikku. If I can help, it's worth it."
