A couple of friends have been going through breakups and I've had some conversations about breakups with other people recently, so this stuff has been floating around in my head. That's Good Advice, all of it. Of course, there are occasions when the situation makes it especially hard to end the relationship - couples with kids, for example. But yeah, this is the kind of advice that makes one go "Mmmmm Hmmmmm" out loud.

Have you ever written professionally?

Sure--there is an endless variety of reasons why one or more of these won't work in a given situation, but as goals, I think they're generally pretty good. Kids are a huge complicating factor, as are abusive situations, etc.
