did you see the article in the current Technology Review about 4chan? there was some very interesting material there about the need to be wrong sometimes.

Working with the Entitlement Generation all day has prompted me to begin developing a theory: Part of the reasons my students are so determined that everything they do is right, is that they've never been given good behavior models about how it looks and feels and sounds to be wrong.

I really need to read this book; I think it will help disprove my fledgling theory, but that's fine. :)

I think you might be onto something. There seem to be a lot of parents out there who can't let the special little snowflakes be wrong...it might hurt their self-esteem! Or some such twaddle.
