It seemed like a rushed story arc. It's a good show otherwise.

Hear hear. I'm assuming that arc was introduced before they knew if they'd be picked up for a second season. But, I mean, they're doing a nice job of pacing with the Parker-and-Hardison-both-grew-up-in-foster-care-and-it-shaped-them-differently arc, and it would've been good if Nate and Sophie could have the same treatment.

I've missed the past two episodes due to Tivo malfunctions, but according to the author's blog (http://kfmonkey.blogspot.com/) I got the impression that the episodes are being shown slightly out of order. So it's possible that they expected us to care more by the time the issue was tackled.

Still seems early to tackle it in Season 1, though. Although I'm sure he'll fall of the wagon in later episodes anyway.
