FWIW, I think you are correct and that she does laugh more easily now. She's really come a long ways towards being clearly "reactive" and staying with you as her attention span has increased tremendously. Now she waits and watches to see what goofy thing you'll (ok I'll) do next with a smile ready.

I was thinking just the other day how lucky Alice is while looking through her photo blog. She is going to grow up and have, thanks to you, Jason, and family, a huge and comprehensive record of her first year. I wish I had something like that! I bet she will be very appreciative.

Yeah, Alice still goes for the night-feedings sometimes. But not always, which is a lovely vision of things to come!

Sending email now.

Thanks for posting this -- I love to read about what Alice is doing, and I have no idea how you keep from putting something about some cute thing she's done into every post. :-)

Well, I do post a picture of her every day :)

I think I mostly resist cute-Alice-stories in my LJ because I don't know how to write them--the written word cannot convey the joy of her giggles or the silliness of her snorts or the look on her face when she thinks she's getting away with something.

And I enjoy looking at the pictures! I'd really like to get Karl and Alice together sometime and see what they make of each other. And of course I'd love to meet Alice!

I guess that for me, the cool things that my kids do are so exciting that I can't help but write about them. In the last couple of days, Karl has learned how to get off the couch/toddler bed/whatever feet first, which is just so cool! And he zooms up the entire flight of stairs between our first and second floors without stopping, which amazes me. See, I just can't help myself! :-)

I forgot to say -- part of why that feet-first-off-the-couch thing is so exciting is because it's something we consciously tried to teach him to do, and it's amazing to see that he actually learned the lesson.
