Optimization

I've been having a productive morning. The laundry is sorted and the washer and dryer humming madly. I've cleared up the mess of coke pallets in the laundry room, breaking them down for recycling pickup tomorrow. i think that this comes partly from what you think you can control. i'd optimize my life for painlessness if i had the least idea how, but i don't. so i actually go for two things: kindness and intellectual interest.

Before I even read the last line, I knew I was going to jump in and tell you what I optimize for. It's quite an interesting way to conceptualize one's life!

I'd say, "fulfillment of my potential", with a side order of "community."

Excellent question, preliminary results would suggest for safety and survival. I would like to think happiness would be up there as well and I'm surprised it doesn't come to mind sooner in response.

It's a good question to chew on for a few days.
