You know, I watched most of the episode too, and was struck by how - um - bad it was. I always did think it was the worst episode of season 1, and I still think so.

However, ASH very, very pretty.

Oh yeah. Totally. I hardly watched any of it, but was just intrigued at the end when Willow tried to have a go at Moloch, that I remembered her characterisation pre-magic as always being less gung-ho.

I still feel just a leetle bit resentful as a British person at the suggestion that none of us over here know what a computer is.

Yes it's hard to distinguish between whether the writers were going for a Giles persona or an English stereotype for an American audience. And as he's the only British person represented until Spike, Wes and Ethan come along. I suppose that 'stuffiness' kinda typified Giles throughout Season 1 didn't it - just glad to see that they didn't keep him one-dimensional into Season 2.
