TW Ficlet: Hand(s)

“You never learnt how to shoot a gun?” Jack asks incredulously.

“No sir, not really,” Ianto answers with a smooth, insincere quirk of his lips, “I was mostly an archivist at Torchwood One, and the most grievous injuries any of us got were paper cuts. None of us were ever in danger until the, the…”

The shot goes off with Jack pressed against Ianto’s back, their arms parallel. Ianto almost drops the gun afterwards from the recoil, but Jack’s hand was there over his, finger over his over the trigger, so that Ianto would get used to the feel of that heavy, lethal weight in his hand.

And then they had sex.
hahaha. brilliant.

i did love this. mostly for uncertain ianto and Jack getting off on making him squirm.

Jack getting off on making Ianto squirm is totally canon, like that tape measure comment <3 Thanks!

Very nicely done. Beautiful use of hand!gun!porn. The graphic imagery more than makes up for the lack of sex. Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome! Glad you liked it. (And that it makes up for the lack of sex :P)

Yeah, I was thinking during the Gwack gun scene whether Jack did that for all his employees. Thanks!

Paper cuts are most grievous! They truly are! Jack is such a tease, and Ianto going to Torchwood in response to his love of all things Bond is fantastic! The silly thing. For the record, I'm completely reading the end of the gun lesson as "and then they had sex." ♥♥

Angsty, loss-of-innocence sex, but great great sex nonetheless.

Thanks :)

And all of a sudden, Jack finds the way Ianto’s unmarred, unscarred, untouched hand clutching the gun to be somehow obscene and wrong and he wants to rip it out of that rigid grip. But even more so, Jack wants to shove the young man out of the hub, push a retcon pill through those pink, soft looking lips, and tell him to go elsewhere, anywhere, just nowhere near Torchwood because hasn’t he had enough of this already?

Just beautiful. That paragraph is my favourite. I love the way that Jack is idealising Ianto's innocence here: he knows that Ianto has been lying to him, that he has a history with Torchwood, and yet he sees something in him that is, as yet, unscarred, and he pushes everything else to the side for a moment.

That is so my favourite part too! It's a quintessential aspect of Jack's character, that he grieves for the innocence that he must destroy in the man because he has a job to do for the species. Micro/macro. Detail/big picture. Leadership sucks.

Leadership sucks.

Agreed! And he probably grieves for his own innocence too, because after a century or so, I don't think he's got any left.

Yeah, because Ianto may hide things really well, but Jack's been alive for long enough to see through lies. I always thought that the only reason he never knew about Lisa down in the basement was because he never asked and Ianto never told.

I'm glad it worked for you. Thanks!
