You finished it! I am so excited to have someone else on my f-list who has finished this book oh my gosh it was such pure love wasn't it? Though I think I missed the easter egg.

Also, yes to the pairings. I definitely have a favorite, but I think I'd be happy with how things end no matter what.

=DDD
Want me to give you a hint, or are you gonna reread?

Oh yes, Nick/Alan is def. the eternal OTP, but I can see how the other pairings will work too. (Nick/Jamie can be fun)
I look forward to seeing more Jamie in TDC. Seems like TDC will be in Mae's pov? I hope we'll see Alan pov at some point.

Alan <333

I would love a hint. I'm awful at picking stuff up! Though I will likely re-read when I'm done forcing it down everyone's throat because this book is amazing.

TDC is supposed to be Mae's POV, which could be interesting or not, depends. In her comments, she said that the third book is likely to be from Sin's perspective, and she's going to become a major character in the second book.

I'm weighing my chances on it ending with Nick/Alan. It doesn't seem likely, but they're so perfect together I -- this series is going to get all heartstring-tuggy isn't it?

Nick/Alan = a burning ring of FIRE OTP lilian_cho June 14 2009, 08:18:01 UTC
QoM H-D moment in the Grimmauld attic =)

Huh. Sin's. But what about Alan? D:
Sin/Mae. I can totally hit that. And they ganging up on Nick MWAHAHAH >=D

W-ell, might end a bit like QoM where H & D are def. family but the whole sexual tension thing is unresolved, yeah?
And I actually do like QoM's ending, esp. since I actually respect QoM!Ginny =) And Harry does try, oh how he tries.

Ooo~ What's so pretty about the the Japanese translation?

And I adore the UK cover and detest the US one, how can you get the UK one?

Well, you've seen the awesome cover by Hiromu Arakawa, yes, yes? =DDD

http://www.thebookdepository.co.uk/

=) Free shipping worldwide!
I'll buy the US hardcovers eventually when they're discounted or if I can find 'em secondhand. Because I dislike the cover that much =P

What's with Nick's red highlights? And the sparkles in his eyes? *WEEPS*

I laughed at the Easter egg (if it's the overt one I am thinking of) because originally she had the wrong geometrical prism.

And yes, I liked the end a lot, and thought it was one of the most successful parts of the book. I need to reread it, as I had a few quibbles along the way and need to work out how many of them were justified, but there was also a lot to love ;-)

I realised that not only do I have the horrible American cover, I have TWO COVERS on my one book. So if you know anyone who wants the overly lipglossed one, I can post it anywhere ;-)

originally she had the wrong geometrical prism.

Wrong how?

^_____^ Love indeed. I wonder if the main plot twist was obvious to me because I've read so many angsty manga? I didn't see the secondary plot twist coming until half a chapter before the revelation though =D

Haha, printing/assembly mistake?
You can make a crafty...notebook book thingy? ^^;;
But in all seriousness, if you want to free it to a good home, I'll make something crafy out of it. No guarantee of quality though ;-)

Since you are collecting covers, you may as well have this one, too, and make a notebook or some such (or just marvel at the lipgloss ;-) You can PM me the address to send it to, or let me know via my gmail account (same name @gmail.com)

In her HP fic she had a Season Cube, with one season per side. A number of people, including me, wrote to say 'But a cube has six sides, you would either need two blank or a Season Tetrahedron' (Because we are nerds). This time it was a tetrahedron!

And I do not read manga but thought the main plot twist was very obvious from very early on, but in a good way, because there was no other way that Nick made sense. I also twigged to Alan being causative through most of the story, again because it was the only logical deduction. (I did not read manga, but I read LOADS of Sherlock Holmes ;-)

E-mailed you! Thank you =D

LOL! Can't even imagine what a tetrahedron looks like.

Mmm, but Nick could've been read as the apathetic teenage, taken to a sociopathic extreme. But of course since we're familiar with her writing we didn't get taken in ;-)
I didn't realize that Nick's voice has power until midway! Shortly after he said he could affect everyone and make them do what he wants. Except for Alan. (Which now makes me wonder if it was because Nick sort of...holds back unconsciously when it comes to Alan; or if it's a testament to Alan's awesome powers of deceit; or if Alan has imprinted on Nick from an early age so Nick's tricks don't work the same way with him)

Alan plays so well at being harmless and personable. I love the Japanese cover, but I wish the artist had drawn Alan thinner--not as thin as Jamie but def. thinner than Nick.

Love Nick's and Jamies' pose though!

I ordered the book from that creepy site that will come and collect their shipping money when we least expect it :P

How long did it take them to deliver the book to your doorstep?

Re: quotes - Don't know about everyone else but I don't mind in the slightest. You'll probably have to shove the easter egg in my face anyway because it's been ages since I read Maya's fics.

LOL! You have such an untrusting nature toward commercial ventures ;-)

Mmm, not more than 2.5 weeks, IIRC. I bought TDL and The Little Prince at the same time. TDL arrived about one week after The Little Prince.

Well I'm gonna use Japanese quotes so I don't spoil English readers *g*
When The Demon's Covenant comes out, the English quotes of TDL is fair game =P

But-but what about Nick/Alan? =O They're like, the eternal BURNING OTP.

X-D

Mmm, Jamie/Gerald yes. That _would_ be interesting.

It does seem like an unnecessary detail, huh?
For me, I didn't do a double-take until I think about it, and realize Jamie can be seen as a Draco character that purposefully blends into the background. And Nick can be seen as DDG!Harry taken to the extreme.

Oh. My. Gawd. Nick & Jamie can be almost as dysfunctional as Nick/Alan O_O

Well, see, I can def. ship a pairing without shipping them sexually.
Like Al/Ed in Full Metal Alchemist, where Al is an EMPTY suit of armour, the options for intercourse are...uh, limited. (I primarily ship Roy/Ed though because Roy the Flame Alchemist is hot like BURNING).

Hm. Gerald, Gerald, Gerald. I approve of the name *g* I like how he's completely terrified of Nick =D Considering he knows what Nick really is, it's entirely justifiable ;-)

Jamie is the "Draco character" in that he channel's SRB's wit and humour. :)

Yes, this! =D

I may already be writing that.

X-D
Mmm, I think I'll pass on the fanfic until I'm actually moved to write one myself. And if I do write one it'll probably be gen and/or a drabble. We'll see.
