I think the art, costume and set designers are so "too good for this show" that they can't help themselves. Everything on Merlin is insanely gorgeous.

(Okay, just reread the comment. Hm, dunno. They went the anachronistic Casanova movie way, and have gorgeous contrasting colors like Smallville did. But why would that make them "too good"?)

In the coronation ep., IIRC they did say that Arthur's twenty. On the other hand, the narration calls Merlin "a young boy"--which can mean a 12 y.o. D:

Maybe they're going for a "coming of age" trope?

I like my Arthur younger, so my Merlin has to be younger too =P

whether it's Bradley or his double, it's weird that he's wearing blue instead of red. (Reconnaissance mission? Arthur got annoyed at his dad so he ran away undercover to join the circus Bayard's army? =DDD)

Well, it's a balance between: "Grr so upset. I'm blogging about this!" and "...do I really want to inflict this on 88 people?" and "Okay, not as upset as I was an hour ago."
