So let me tell you something about my life a little, since I've got this whole birthday happening tomorrow.

It's getting to the point where I don't see the sense in presents, either. :) Mostly what I ask for are things I happen to need - this year, it's going to be an adaptor that will let me connect my laptop to my television, and that is all I can think of. I don't want anything else. I have everything I need already.

Sometimes that feels awesome, and sometimes it's scary, because I haven't found that frame of mind yet, where everything in life is just there and while it's there we might as well see if it makes us happy. I don't have that yet. I don't know if I ever will. I guess I'm trying, though.

Haha, exactly! If I need something and it's near my birthday, I'm like, "...Okay if you really absolutely are going to kill yourself if you don't get me anything, I need this so you can get me this." I'm usually like, "Oh, get me popcorn for my birthday and we'll watch a movie." HAHAHA I'M SO LAAAAAME. I'm like, "Get me a present we can share, bb! ;D"

I just...it's that nice feeling that washes over me that no matter what, everything is going to be okay. I get those times of panic, too, but I feel like it's all working to get me to a better place. I read Zen and the Art of Happiness and it did wonders for me. I cannot recommend it enough, bb. <3 Maybe it'll help you like it helped me.

I just love it when people like having me around. It doesn't happen often but just hearing that maybe, I've made someone's day a little, is wonderful.

I totally get what you mean about birthdays, too. I'm not big on them either. I don't have anything to wish for, really, I'm mostly happy with what I have. My parents insist on giving me little gifts (which always turn out beautiful anyway), but mostly I just spend it with them and then online with my friends. I enjoy every day I have.

Reminds me of that bit in Dexter where he says he thinks he finally understands birthdays as being days where you celebrate being alive and looking with hope to the future. I think that's roughly it, though I try to celebrate on days that aren't my birthday, too :)

I love running around seeing everyone and then coming to the internet and being like, "OMG HAAAAAY GURLFRIENDS" :D My friend says she'll make cookies with me tomorrow, and I get to see my dad and my stepmom as well, get to sit with them and maybe throw back a beer or something, hahahaaaaa. But I mean, days like this, where I get to just sit back and relax, how can I not love them too?

BB! I agree! Birthdays and holidays are just another day for me too, I never know what to say when people ask me what I want for my birthday or Christmas. I love when people make me things or just go into a store in like April (no where near my birthday) and see a trinket that just screams me to them and get me that. I want gifts that mean something to them to give to me, because that's what makes the gifts mean so much more to me. THOUGH! On birthdays I like to spent time with the person and express that I'm so happy they're here and alive and in my life. Like today is my friend's birthday and I'm going to hang out with her tonight and make her laugh and have fun, because she deserves it!

Haha yes, exactly! I like getting people things when I see them and am like, "OH JEEZ THIS IS JUST LIIIIIKE THEM." Although I must admit, my friends are amazing and give me hilarious gifts that are usually related to inside jokes. I do have amazing RL friends and they are very gifted in giving/doing things that make me grin like a complete doofus. OMGGGG HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUR FRIEND :D She picked a good month to be born in, who does not like May? (HAHA SO BIASED)

I'm personally fond of August, but my Dad is born in May, so I can't knock it! I have some amazing friends that do pretty much the same thing! They always know how to make me smile like a loon with little gifts, even with just doodles!
