Think of this as like a test run for the business I was talking about down below - this is how simple sketches will look. No color, no nothing. I did ink most of them; the Red Riding Hood I left with the pencil guide underneath. Of course, when the big sketch week comes, I'll add color to the bigger pieces (either on the actual picture or digitally with Photoshop) and maybe some of the sketches if I wish.
Note: These are scanned in, which means I have resized them because they were HUUUUUUGE. If I do more intricate things, do you think you would want me to start big so in case you guys would like a high-res version I would have one in stock for you? Please tell me what you think!
ART: Sketches include Sherlock Holmes, Disney, Doctor Who, Supernatural, Star Trek, and Fairy Tales (Red Riding Hood). Previews below:
This first sketch dump is listed as follows:
Upper left: Doctor Who - Tenth Doctor. I do love Ten, despite all the fandom!wank that follows. (Blah blah ROSE blah blah MARTHA blah blah ANY PAIRING AT ALL.) I especially loved his glasses. David Tennant, why you gotta be so sexy in glasses, bb? It's a decent picture; I'm happy with his nose and hair.
Upper right: Alice and the Mad Hatter. The Hatter design is based off of
bri_chan's work, which I know has become the popular way to draw him amongst the DA comm. I won't lie, I know it's a fucking weird ship, but I do kind of ship Alice and the Hatter. I mean, obviously she isn't like, 10, and he's a lot younger and more good-looking. It's not really shipping it from the movie but more the characters as they are played in the park. (Look up pictures of them! They are adorable!) I really do love drawing this pair. I suppose it has to do with fluffy dresses and the huge hat.
Middle left: Star Trek - Kirk and Spock. LOL LIKE I LOOKED AT REFERENCES. Besides, it's just a little doodle. Kirk being Kirk, and Spock being like, "lolwut." More Reboot!Trek than TOS!Trek. (I'LL DO BOTH VERSIONS NO WORRY.)
Lower left: Belle. She's my favorite Disney princess but I can never get her hair the way I want it! This little filler doodle looks nice, though! I'm pretending she's hanging outside a castle balcony and looking down.
Lower right: Holmes and Watson, respectfully. OH GOD IT'S THE BEST BROMANCE EVER. I draw Holmes with more sharp edges and Watson with more curves. Also, I know it probably wasn't the style back then but I like their hair a bit tousled on the edges. BOWLER HAT LOOKS LIKE SHIT BUT IT'S OKAY.
Second dump is all Supernatural, so pretty straight forward! The boys look angsty but Dean looks better. (Sam's hair is a little funny.) I LOVE BOTH THEIR NOSES. Even though I'm not fully okay with Sam's hair, I do like how the top picture came out.
Gabriel sketch! It's difficult because, if I'm not careful, he could come out looking a lot like Sam because they both have those similar hairstyles. I might part it different, I don't know. Again, I just did it from memory, so maybe his hair parts different, I'm not sure.
LOL GABRIEL AND CASTIEL. I love them both.
Obviously I NEED WORK DRAWING ANIMALS LOL. Oh god, that's awful. Obviously it's Little Red Riding Hood, or Little Red Cap as it is sometimes known. The girl in question looks okay - I like how the cloak's hood came out - but this really needs some color. I didn't bother erasing my pencil lines. When I draw, it's the pencil skeleton, then pencil in detail, ink the lines I want, and afterwards I usually copy it and then color the copy. (I like to keep the original intact.) I like the grandmother's bonnet in the wolf's claw, but it's just a quick idea that I quickly drew and inked. I think later I might take a more serious look at it, but for now it'll do.
When it comes to the fandoms, I will credit where credit is due if I got inspired by something/someone. I do want to say that I will go in depth with the fairy tales; I'll go into the original story, talk about the watered down versions, and talk about why I drew what, etc. etc. The fairy tale posts will probably be the most interesting of them all, I won't lie.
But that's kind of what to expect. Of course, I'm going to add color to some of them, but do expect a mixture of silly and sometimes-I'm-trying-to-make-it-look-good.
