I tried to post an entry yesterday before I left work and when I posted I got this message saying Live Journal was in read-only mode due to updating...bladeeblahblahblah and my entry went away. That was a pisser

I am also enrolled in Jacqueline's class with you. I just finished her other class. This one should be fun, too. I look forward to seeing your work! Should be a lot of fun. I've made some of the little dresses and hangers on my own, but am excited at the prospect of learning Jac's method.
Yay!!!! I am SO excited to be trying this! A little nervous too because I am such a perfectionist and this can get in the way of my ability to learn new things. So, I am really going to try to get out of my own way and just let the process happen.
And yes, I sure have noticed that Jacqueline is great and her work is tre' cool and beautiful!
I am really grateful to be learning something new and meeting other like-minded folks.
Hey, you're going to have to lose that perfectionist thing or else you'll never do anything. Know why? It's because NO ONE is perfect...so if you waste time trying to do perfect things, you will get hung up on THAT rather than learning the skill. Just do it. Do it quickly just to get the hang of it...then do another...and your second one will be better than the first...and your third one will be even better. The important thing is to HAVE FUN!!! xoxo
Wise words from wise woman which I will take to heart for sure because you are so right!! I do not do myself any good at all when I get into that perfectionist mode -- just get bad headache from banging head against the proverbial wall ! ;)
I hate it (everyone does) when LJ eats an entry before posting like that! These days it's just sort of habit for me to do a quick ctrl-A, ctrl-C before posting, just in case. And sometimes if you get that "read-only mode" message, it'll work if you paste your post/comment into a new one and just try again right away. The system is actually quite a bit more stable than it was a year or so ago, but it can still be frustrating when you lose something.
Hey, thanks for the Control keys tip, I will make that a habit from here on out. I found it impossible to dupe the entry I lost as you write what you write when you write it...know what I mean???
And, I am looking forward to seeing you in live technicolor tomorrow night!
Oh yes, I know what you mean. I've written essays on here that got lost when I went to post them, and the re-post ended up being a paragraph or two.
At meetings I usually only show up in black & white, helps me blend into the background. But ya, I'm looking forward to meeting you in person, too! Are your husband and/or sponsor coming too? Maybe we could go someplace for a cup of java after...?
Oh man, essays written with time, heart, and soul lost in a "blip"! My reaction to that would definitely be a gauge of where my spirtual fitness was at and I am certain the result would be, well, let's just it's progress not perfection, eh? :)
Tomorrow night I will there with a friend of mind who has been struggling with the disease for a long time, her name is Kay. She asked me to bring to her a meeting so I am bringing her to Foglifters. And yes, a cuppa cuppa after might be nice -- are you okay with leaving it open to a possibility? I am asking because sometimes I am exhausted and just want to go home and crash after meetings, but it might be good to go out for fellowship as I think my friend will appreciate that too.
And showing up in black and white, too funny. Due to my Aries Only Child status, I show up in technicolor -- much to the dismay of many ;)
Oh man, I was just emailing with your SO saying that I thought the guy was a real wuss. I mean, what is UP with that crying bit? It seemed so....well, crybabyish (oh I am so JUDGEMENTAL). And as far as his acting is concerned, I'm not gonna be watching for him on the big screen anytime soon (oh there I am geing so JUDGEMENTAL again).
