Intensive care units

Like Douglas MacArthur and an NSF check, I have returned.

During my Medical Misadventure, (also known as The Recent Unpleasantness) I was obliged to spend almost a month in ICU's.  Damned unpleasant places they are, too.  The staff within were almost invariably nice.  The places themselves suck however, from the patient's point of view.

I'm not sure if you're a good bad example, a bad good example, or an evil laughing example. Ok, you're probably the latter, and all the terms are so open to debate. Whatever sort of example you are, however, you're a live example, and welcome back to the world of the living without ICU.

Alas, I'm sure you'll have many opportunities to show your finer qualities moving forward. But I will relish the joy in which you talk about them.

I have one enormous scar that goes from my collarbones to my crotch, and a multitude of lesser ones from all the crap that was done unto me in the ICU. A chick that dug this scar would, in my opinion, have gone far past an interesting scar-fetish and moved decidedly into "needs professional help" obsession territory.

At least it's not the "Y" shaped cut the medical examiner does when making a canoe out of a client.
