"Hey, Greg," Peter said, walking in. He took a look at the chem stuff sitting out and came up with a hypothesis. "Running experiments?"

"Well, the serum - which was created to cause genetic modifications - was filtered through the animal's venom, and that was what altered my DNA," Peter said. He let go of the ceiling and flipped around in mid-air to land on his feet. "It makes sense if you're used to it."

"When? I'm from 2006. We're just a bit advanced scientifically compared to some of the worlds I've heard about."

"I get it," Greg nodded, tossing his supplies back in the kit. "Serum mixed with the blood flow...I kinda see it. But yeah. Weird. We don't have anything like that back home, and I'm like, envious like whoa of your technology and how advanced you guys are, dude."

"You just get a couple of brilliant people doing extreme things a bit earlier, mixed with the outbreak of mutants we saw about ten years ago, and suddenly you're farther along than other worlds running parallel to yours," Peter explained.

"Outbreak of mutants?" Greg raised a brow. "I met a guy last night who turned kinetic energy into duplicates of himself and said he was a mutant."

"Jamie? I met him the other day," Peter said. "Yeah, mutants are pretty common in my world. And a few others, it seems. We've had several in Fandom from what I understand."

"Which is something I'm still adjusting to, seriously." Greg shook his head. "Weirdest thing back home is just the normal LA stuff - hippies, vegans, fetishists, Scientologists. The usual."

"Hey, you think that's weird?" Peter asked. "My friend Rory has a vampire puppy dog. He flies. That's bizarre, even to me. I'm iffy on the supernatural stuff like that."

"He has a flying dog?" Greg stared. "Wait. He has a vampire dog?"

He frowned, thinking of his earlier conversation with Dawn.

"She has a vampire dog," Peter corrected. "It's a weird name for a girl, I know. But, yeah, he's an adorable little dog. He doesn't eat human blood or anything. He's just extremely hyperactive."

"Huh. Dawn was telling me about vampires earlier," Greg said. "She says they're really common where she's from...which, according to her, is about two hours away from where I used to live."

"There were a couple vampires that I saw back home when I was doing my superhero stuff," Peter said. "But that's in the topic of stuff I don't understand and kind of don't want to. I'm more comfortable looking at supernatural stuff on more of a surface level because it's nearly impossible to explain scientifically."

Greg nodded. "That's my problem. I can't prove any of this stuff so I'm forced to kind of just take people at face value. I mean, a girl hovers cookies over to you and tells you she's an alien, there's not a whole lot of room for doubt, right?"

"Well, technically, she could be a mutant with telekinesis and a weird desire to have people think she's an alien," Peter said. "But Isabel is far too nice to do that."

"Yeah, she's really cool," Greg said, going the slightest bit pink. "And absolutely nothing like what I thought my first alien encounter would be like."

Peter noticed the blushing, but chose not to call attention to it. "Same here, actually. I expected my first alien encounter to be less blond, for one."
