Title: Far Author: Selena Pairings/Characters: Jaejoong/Changmin Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 538 Summary: They are too far apart Notes/Warnings: For kpop_prompts, prompt #33 miles. My prompt table can be found here
You don't need anything in this story but I got everything.
You don't take a side and you don't decide who's right and who's wrong. You play them out like they are. Friends with different ideas, trying to figure out how they work now.
And it just, so short but so amazing and its everything that I love about it. I love everything that Changmin does say and Jaejoong doesn't believe, I love everything that Changmin wants to say but Jaejoong never hears. I love every moment that you hold us wanting Changmin to say what he wants to Jaejoong, and Jaejoong to just say 'Hey it's okay. I get it.' But they're both unsure and its Changmin who's more vocal (or not so vocal) but you get EVERYTHING. And it's so freaking satisfying to sit down read a fic that actually doesn't pic a side, or be biased in anyway.
You figured out this perfect balance and I loved every moment of it.
This little piece is brilliant, and not only for the things that are written on it but for all of those that are not. Because there's more meaningful lines that, the same way that last "I love you", aren't being said. Also, you manage to convey their personalities with such short dialogue (and actions) in a way that is easy to believe that this calls really happened.
It's easy to get a little bit heartbroken reading it because they're not together, and the reader knows it, and it isn't anyone's fault but still makes you sad. Good work!!
*glomps this down* this is so precious :) I really like your characterization of the both of them, how Changmin can't bring himself to hate Jaejoong and neither can Jaejoong. short and sweet, I loved it :D
