Wow, that was a lot of overacting and self-indulgent crap. "I'm an Artist! I'm misunderstood!" To be fair, I've known teenage Artists like that, so it's not like it is devoid of all verisimilitude. I think it was supposed to be deep, however, and that it certainly is not.

As is often the case, I was oblivious to the huge cult following of this film through social media and the like that has resulted in it being released. When Pixie invited me to see it, I shrugged and said sure. No-spoiler version: They aren't lying when they say it is a tremendous performance by Mickey Rourke. It has to be, as the film hinges entirely around him, and the other characters hardly show up. The film is a slow, leisurely character study and will probably satisfy if you like that kind of film.

 It was fine, but I have never seen a bad piece of direction so completely suck the life out of a crowd. The closing reprise of One was done in the Golden Show Outfits, and used as the final bows.  The dancers came on one at a time, and lifted their hats for applause.
