The plate metaphor was really, really well done, and Gene's flashback to Sam's admission that he was from 2006 was certainly interesting, although I'm really hoping that we'll be able to see much more of the interaction between Gene and Sam during his delirium - Sam had to tell Gene a hell of a lot more for Gene to have initially called Merrick in... And is Sam going to be all right with Annie? Or is Annie going to be all right with Sam?

So many questions... Aargh!

Yay! The missus taking and drinking Gene's whiskey. Yay! Annie taking Sam to her place to care for him. Yay! Gene realizing that because something cracked but can be repaired means it doesn't have to be replaced.

Please let the Missus prevail. It's time to bring this broken team back together and if anyone can do it, she can. She is the only one objective enough to think clearly. Please let Merrick disappear, he's caused enough trouble and Sam doesn't need him anymore. He'll just crack the plate into parts too small to be glued back together.
