Yes, this story is positively thick with the angst, but as ever I'm truly stunned by your ability to pluck out these genuinely tender and even light-hearted moments between Sam and Gene. I really enjoyed the play between past and present, especially since at first the scenes at the Railway Arms and the Sam/Gene felt like it must have happened in a previous, happier time, which makes it somehow sweetly affirming to learn that this is how they are after the incident with Woolf. Very cleverly done, thank you!

Thank you so much! I didn't want Sam to be completely broken in this fic, just not completely healed. See, sometimes I have a heart. :)

You brought me to tears with this one. I never do that. This was horrifying and moving and very intense. Lovely.

I had shivers down my spine when you described Sam's sufferings. It was painful to read, but in a very good way. I see that the Evil Twin did her job accurately, coaxing you to write this story. Well done!

The Evil Twin is very powerful and can be very hard to resist. And it is a lot of fun to make Sam cry. His tears are so pretty. :)

Thank you!

You can make Sam suffer all you want, hon. I'm certainly not one to pass up on a good angsty fic, am I? *cackles evilly*

And you know what? You now have one more reason to harm Sam now, because I won the bet for your writing services (mwahahaha!) at the help_Haiti comm and I'm already thinking of a nasty enough prompt to tickle your inspiration. Tomorrow I'm going to the post office to donate to the Red Cross, and will e-mail you a copy of the receipt as soon as I have it. :)

I thought you were the one to win me. I eagerly await your prompt! (Poor Sam is crying in his cage, however...)

Whoaa... this was chilling! The flicking backwards and forwards through time worked so well, showing both scenarios at once. Absolutely loved it! <3

And we love you both for it. ♥

It's all kinds of wrong and all kinds of right and completely fucked up...and I loved it. Now, to go find some PWP to release this painful ball of angst in my chest.
