Out of all the fandoms I'm a part of, I have to say CSIverse fans are by far the most conservative. And sometimes, the things that come out of their mouths absolutely terrify me. When a detective is purposefully belligerent, rude, and unhelpful to someone he thinks has been raped, that is not cool. That is not him being tough. That is him being ( Read more... )

Yeah, well knowing someone who was very recently affected by an assault I'm even less forgiving to someone who badgers the victims and makes out like it's their fault. Dammit, nobody asks or wants it to happen to them...and the people who are the perpetrators (sp?)...well, I'm not interested in learning what might have made them do it - they deserve to be locked away for a long period of time. The victims need to be supported and to know they can get justice when the person responsible is convicted, not that they'll be free to roam the streets and attack other people.

Amen. Obviously, the case gets muddier as the show goes on, but at that moment, the character was someone who had been nearly strangled to death and possibly raped. Now, the character is/was a professional dominatrix, but whatever moral high ground this detective thought he had on the woman was completely negated by his actions.

What kind of man bullies and insults another person on one of the worst days of his/her life? I get that the character is supposed to be kind of gruff or whatever, but that's just way too far for me. Because now, he's nothing but a giant douche bag in my mind.
