“You’re done for the day.” Chief Vick’s tone told them both not to argue, but Lassiter didn’t listen.
“Chief, there’s still…”
She raised an eyebrow at him and crossed her arms over her chest, “I’m not suggesting, detective, I’m ordering. You’re both going home. Now.”
Her daemon added in a snort to emphasize the order. Murphy ran a hand through her hair and looked underneath her desk. Aeron opened an eye and looked at her, “Best to do what your CO says.”
“Fine. You’re answering the phone if we get a call.”
“You’re really going home?” Lassiter asked, looking surprised when she started to put her files away.
“I’m not arguing with my CO,” she explained.
“You’re going to sleep when they guy is out there?”
“Who said anything about sleep?” She put on her jacket and then picked up her files, tucking them underneath her arm.
Choices: 01. “You coming with?” 02. “It’ll be more comfortable than this chair.” 03. “She just said we had to go home.”

Flack rubbed at the back of his neck and once again looked worried. She raised an eyebrow, which didn’t seem to help his nerves but he was really acting suspicious.
“Look, I don’t know how you feel about hockey, but I got two tickets to a game and thought you might be interested in going.”
She blinked at him. It wasn’t her fault though. Flack asking her out was sort of a surprise. They might have flirted a few times and then there was that whole almost kiss that had happened at the hospital after Danny and Lindsey’s daughter had been born but they were just co-workers. Sort of.
“It’s okay if you don’t like hockey, I know it’s not everyone’s sport,” Flack said trying to make up for the fact that she hadn’t said anything yet.
“No, no, I don’t have any objections to hockey,” she cut him off before he got the wrong idea. “It’s just that…”
Choices: 01. “…we work together.” 02. “…I need to know when the game is.” 03. “…I thought you were seeing that DA.”

[Based on this AU]Coronation Day was the biggest holiday in the Queen’s Empire and though there was talk of rebellion in the Colonies, Princeton still threw itself into the traditional celebrations with fervor. As part of the City Council, Murphy was forced to attend the parades and civil speeches. Surrounded by Mages, she was the only Null who attended the celebrations. Her people hated this day. It celebrated the government that kept them as lower class citizens and even with her position of power, very little had changed for the Princeton Null

“Hey, those are Council bracelets.” The girl took a step forward, “My grandfather used to have them.”
Murphy hid the bracelets underneath her sleeves again, wary of a Mage touching them and somehow setting off their magical power. “Your grandfather was on the Council.”
“He was, but… he died recently.”
“Councilman House was your grandfather?” Murphy blinked in surprise.
She had only known the oldest member of the City Council in an official capacity and found that the man was an arrogant, Mage biased jerk. His death had been sudden but Murphy couldn’t say she regretted it. They were still looking for someone to fill his seat.
“Yeah, you probably worked with him right?”
“He had very little to do with me.”
“Yeah, Grandpa was like that.” The girl looked embarrassed. “Sorry about yelling at you. We don’t get a lot of Null on campus.”
Choices: 01. “You should be.” 02. “It’s alright.” 03. “What’s your name?”
