Ouch. Oh, ouch. This was just painful and beautiful in more ways than I think I can properly count.

This line just made me sit up, eyes wide, and do a double-take: "And he'll sit at their table and listen to his own voice string together words like 'hoses' and 'acid' and 'playground' and people will clap approvingly while he's lost somewhere in the horror of it all." And from here on in, everything made me want to cry. You really know how to beat folks in the soft places. With sharp things. ;_;

Thank you! I definitely wanted it to hurt, and I felt bad about it too, because Billy doesn't deserve a fate that grim, but it wouldn't leave me alone. I'm really glad the whole thing worked for you.

I think just saying that it "worked" for me doesn't quite do it justice. I sort of got this inkling, at the end of the last episode, that things were irrevocably Not the Same from there on- and you grabbed hold of that and pounded it in with a hammer. ;_;

that things were irrevocably Not the Same

Yes, the feeling that it could change everything, absolutely everything, depended on what Dr. Horrible did afterwards.

But thank you for that lovely description there....

Beautiful, and yet so very tragic.

It was interesting to get a peek inside a supervillains head -- typically we don't really get to see the human aspect of them until either their dead, or someone can be bothered to get up and point out that 'hey, they were people too y'know'.

He definitely needs to be saved, poor guy. *ker sniff*

Thank you very much! I know, I really wanted a look inside between ordinary person and super villain to see how you could get there and I thought this would work as a path. I'm glad you liked it.

He does need to be saved, poor thing!

I really did. And it was very enlightening too.

Preferably by a dashing -- if a touch egocentric -- superhero? *hopeful face*

I think that would work, it's what superheroes are for after all :) Though I also kind of like the idea of Hammer being broken too.
