almost at least once a week i get a lecture from my mother and/or my sister about how i need to find new friends and new hobbies in my life. they think that because i enjoy watching television that i don't have anything else better to do with my time. they may be right. i know that many people feel that watching television is an amazing waste of ( Read more... )

You are NOT a big freak & it IS your life. Don't forget that. It's so funny how much we have in common - exact same hobbies (er, except for the watching hockey thing...). I too work in a library & have for #@ years - hey - I'm old enough to be your mother! I have a sister & a husband who give me grief over television, my obsessions with paper, paper & scissors, paper, scissors & glue....
Not to mention NO respect for the music I like. My husband teases me about the Gale Harold thing - and not in a funny ha! ha! way. I don't know why people who are supposed to love you the most, can be so clueless. It's like, here's bruise, so let's keep on hittin' it. You just be yourself & tell your sister & mother, or whoever, "Gee, I'm sorry you feel that way." (because it's really hard to say Fuck Off You to your Mom)
