I like Edwards.

I've kinda held back on making posts about my Edwards-love here on LR, out of deference to luna_k's Hillary-love. But when I mentioned it, she told me there was no need, and she'd love to see some Edwards-squee too. So here 'tis. [x-posted to my journal]

He's my candidate, too, and I've made numerous donations to his campaign already. I sincerely hope he gets good news in Nevada and/or South Carolina. I'll be voting for him here in California on Feb. 5. I just hope the media doesn't force him out of the race before the voters have a chance to be heard. Worst case, I'd be fairly happy with him as VP to Obama, setting Edwards up as the heir presumptive in 8 years. I think that ticket would make more sense the other way around, but that seems unlikely.

I haven't donated yet, but I plan to on Friday to make the biggest impact. I think he's had some good news already; I'd like for him to actually win a state so that the media has to admit it. :p (Massachusetts has joined the Super Tuesday insanity, so I'll be voting for him then too.)

And I seriously doubt he'll drop out before the convention; he's said he won't. And even if he doesn't get the nomination, by being there (and by Clinton and Obama vying for his delegates), he has the leverage to affect the national platform in good way.

I too would prefer Edwards/Obama to Obama/Edwards, but I'd vote for either ticket. (Which pretty much goes without saying, I'd vote for any Dem.)

I was disappointed that he didn't get the labor endorsements in NV. And that's just one way (I think) the media is killing him--I can understand why the unions want to back a winner, but without an actual win to point to, I'm afraid he'll just get more and more marginalized. Even coming out of Iowa as #2, all the news was still Obama and Hillary.

Mind you, I, too, will be supporting the eventual nominee, whoever he or she may be.

His webpage touts his union endorsements, saying he has more union members than anybody else. But it would have been nice if he'd gotten some local in NV, yeah.

On the other hand, at least the teacher's union isn't suing on his behalf...

Edwards has recently become my candidate of choice.
Although any of the democrats would make me relatively happy.

Relative to any of the Republicans, or Bush, abso-friggin'-lutely. That's another reason why I tried to make this pro-Edwards rather than anti-anyone else... I don't hate any of them (worry about them, maybe), and I'll be behind any of them in the general.

While I'm in a different camp, I have to say, it's really upsetting to see the media ONCE AGAIN pick candidates and write Edwards off. I've kind of been surprised at how much he attacks Hillary; if anything, they should be getting along more, since Obama is a media darling, while Hillary is their favourite punching bag and Edwards barely registers. It's kind of disgusting. =[

Here's to a Democrat in '08. =P

Well, everybody goes after the front-runner, which she is perceived as still.

I was a little disappointed in Edwards's response to Hillary's tear-up. And I'm disturbed by the nature of the criticisms being made by both Obama's and Clinton's camps lately. Hillary was being racist when she said she'd be the best president? Obama was practicing shuck and jive? Stop, people. Just stop.

I hope that the media will just cut it out and cover him legitimately.

The FDL article I just added to this post speculates the reason the media isn't covering Edwards is as much that he would WIN as anything. And perhaps anointing Hillary has to do with the fact that she in these polls, she loses to every Republican except Fred Thompson and Ron Paul. Yikes!
