What is it with conservatives and trying to see the nonexistant political subtext to everything? Tinky Winky and Spongebob are trying to turn our kids gay. March of the Penguins is a hurrah for "traditional values". The Incredibles might as well have been written by Ayn Rand. Etc etc etc

I don't see him actually saying, "This show is conservative." but it also doesn't make sense to me that he would mention it otherwise. I mean, to possibly boost ratings. But. He's like, "It's well-written and Kristen Bell is hot," which yeah, she really is, but that's not why I keep watching. I don't know. People are weird.

I don't think he's saying anything about the show beyond "How weird that I'm loving a teenage show aimed at girls." I saw the first strip linked to on TWoP and it kind of scared me how tickled they were by it, cause yeah, there's such a thing as a bad endorsement. It's kind of like if Michael Jackson talked about how awesome 7th Heaven was.

Why are you surprised that a Mallard Fillmore doesn't make sense and totally misses the point of whatever subject it's talking about? The Daily Show's America: The Book nailed it with its parody of the strip, which (a year later) Bruce Tinsley retaliated with almost two week's of comics bitching about it as if he had just been framed for murder.
