There are no emoticons brutal enough for how fucking furious this makes me.
According to Drudge, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has recently enjoyed a little Broadway entertainment. And Page Six reports that she’s also working on her backhand with Monica Seles. So the Gulf Coast has gone all Mad Max, women are being raped in the Superdome, ( Read more... )

I pulled money my family may need for gasoline from my savings account to help out hurricane survivors. I went through my cloth stash to see what I had in the way of fleece to make blankets.

I can't afford $100 shoes, let alone $1000+ shoes.

When she puts as much, proportionally, as my family has toward hurricane relief, I will reconsider my decision to call her La Bitch. (For reference, that's 3 outfits, 2 prs of shoes and 4 days worth of food)

Smile. There are 12,000 people tonight in Memphis who have roofs over their heads, and food in their stomachs. I'm making my drop of blankets, toiletries, paper goods and a few frills (coloring books, crayons, cards, boardgames) tomorrow.

Oh my god. It's chaos. It's hell.

That article made me cry, both in sadness and anger. Dead people litter the streets, resuers are being shot at, and women are being raped, yet thery're still there, stuck in hell, because no one can organize a rescue. Why is this happening? Where is Bush? Why isn't he on his hands and knees pulling people out the horror? That's what a great leader would be doing. Dammit, that's what a good person would be doing, especially if they had the means to help. I can't even articulate my fury and sorrow about this entire situation.

I've been at work most of the past two days and haven't been keeping up like I usually would, so I have to thank you for being the best source for all the information. I get almost all my NO news from you and the links you post.

I wish every person in that damned administration would have to rot down there at the Superdome.

Everything is in chaos. The school system I'm intwined in decided today to shorten each week to 4 days instead of 5 and to add an hour to each day, in order to not waste half the budget each time they fill up the buses. We were also told to "don't be too surprised if school is cancelled for days or even weeks at a time for the rest of the year."

This whole mess is just surreal beyond imagination.

More sparkling signs of the administration being in charge."We will not tolerate lawlessness, or violence, or interference with the evacuation," Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff said. "I'm satisfied that we have ... more than enough forces there and on the way."
Well, that's a relief. I guess we can all go home now.[/cartman]
