How much do you want to bet we'll hear that women are frail creatures who shouldn't be in politics?
Of course, throwing up on the Japanese Prime Minister at a state dinner, that's a manly act.

Ha! Dude, I was like 9 when that happened and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Like, "Hee hee, the president barfed! That's so cool!"
But yeah, it was actually pretty embarrasing. ;)

A lot of people (well, it felt like a lot) critized me a year or so ago because I decided to caucus for Kerry instead of Dean. I'd been planning to go for Dean all along, but when I met him, I had this gut feeling, the kind that I get sometimes when I'm interviewing people for jobs. My gut said he was applying for the wrong job, perhaps one he wasn't suited for or just not ready for yet. And bad things have happened when I ignored those feelings, so I went with my own judgment.
This DNC gig? To stick with my job interview analogy, if I knew the manager down the hall was posting that job when I met Dean, I would have sent him there with a strong recommendation.
He is right for this job.
And I want every story about Jackson to be taken down and a story about Darfur posted in it's place. But that's not going to happen, so I'll shut up.

Really?!? I knew Dean was popular with the blogging crowd, and there were quite a few "Vote Dean" buttons on LJ User Info pages... but on the whole I didn't notice as much support as I would have wanted. ::sighs:: I didn't really see the major political postings on LJ until he'd been phased out of the race.
(Sidenote: this is one of the reasons I'm sticking to posting political on LJ, instead of moving over to Blogger like most everyone else does. Really, if it hadn't been for some LJ'rs posting about Dean back in July 2003 I never would have thought to check him or any of the other candidates out in the first place. I think we need to keep up the politics and world stuff within the fandom communities, you know?)
