If you take Timothy McVeigh's last words seriously, I am the master of my fate/ I am the captain of my soul, it seems he categorically rejected Christianity. Everything we know about him show him to be, at the very most, a lapsed, non-practicing Catholic who considered himself to be an agnostic. However, if he had been a rabid fundamentalist Catholic bent on installing a theocracy under the vicardom of the Pope in Rome, I would agree that the weeping Jesus would be in poor taste. So you are going by a last few words of his rather than his stated purpose of the bombing as revenge for the killing of the Waco Christian leader David Koresh? That's convenient , isn't it? I wonder how many are actually calling for no Mosque/community center at all. If there are any, they are being incredibly hypocritical, but I can see objections to the location, but even this I think is silly.
