Strange to wait decades to start a review until legislation seems imminent.

But yeah, great as this news is, I hope nobody tries to use it to polish the turd that is the Obama administration's handling of the oil spill, the economy, or the wars.

Wow. Having had at least a half dozen friends kicked out of the military for being outed by others, I'm very, very happy this has finally happened. Long overdue.

This is a needed victory. Obama is paying off the various groups who supported him. I personally was surprised how close the vote was.

I could never understand the part about not letting gays serve. The old argument was that if someone found out you were gay then they could blackmail you which is why gays had to be kept out of sensitive positions.
But that argument no longer holds since today most gays are totally open about their orientation. Either way this was a good win for the Democrats. Obama is on a roll legislatively. If only BP could stop the gulf spill and then things for be perfect.

Now it's just insecure, homophobic straight guys who for whatever reason can't wrap their minds around the fact that no self-respecting gay guy would ever find them attractive in the first place, let alone try to sexually assault them in the showers. In its own way, it's kind of refreshing to watch them freak out when they're (allegedly) exposed to the same treatment women have been complaining about for decades.
