I suffer from pangs of dishonesty when I use Conté. People usually admire the result, but I'm far from a master of the medium. It is possible to layer Conté endlessly, so I make umpteen mistakes and revise them. The best artists in Conté use their knowledge of light and precise crosshatching to create astonishing work

Another admirée here! Fantastic work! I've never worked with Conté myself (or charcoal for that matter) it seems I will have to add it to the long list of cool things to experiment with
