One last christmas present arrived
Back before Christmas, Tor.com was running a daily giveaway. I actually was one of the winners for day 16, and today the package arrived with two Steampunk novels by George Mann, and two proofs, one for a debut science fiction novel coming in the spring. Okay, part of me is drooling. The trailer to Fast Five, the next Fast and Furious movie, is out. A new love...
*Sigh*. I have not been writing much in my journal recently. Maybe because I've been busy on the weekends (started swimming laps at the Walter Baker Sports Center every weekend, gradually building up the number of laps each time), and I've been exhausted after work. It's nice to be working again
It's a set routine, with no overtime. I'm learning the system and getting up to speed on the tools. It looks like I'll be doing more of the French testing, since the person I'm working with is Russian, so he doesn't know French ( Read more... ) -

Please let the heat end!
It has been a long week with the heat and humidity the way it's been. I have air conditioning, but I don't like cranking it up, due to the energy it uses, but today I reached the end of my rope. I was out of the house for the morning, but I crashed when I got home, and now my sinuses are filling up and my head is pounding ( Read more... )
