My Part of Town...[for Ambria]

Aug 03, 2009 20:29

"Da, I'm leaving. Be back...when I get back." Marcus made his ever so eloquent departure by shouting across the apartment and not waiting for a response before pulling the front door closed behind him. The teen was on his way to the Woodside neighborhood where a certain metal-sculpting girl lived. Date night the first with Ambria. Not the first ( Read more... )

The door was opened not by Ambria, but by Quincy. He looked Marcus over, then broke into a mock-sad expression. "That postcard - man. Hurt me. Right here..."

He put a well-manicured meaty hand over his heart, then grinned and called over his shoulder "Ambi! Your date's here."

Ambria emerged a moment later from the back hall, dressed casual-but-nice. Her hair was pink again, and she was carrying the bracelet she'd made for Marcus. "There you are," she said with a big grin, and headed over to hug him fiercely. "Missed you so much!"

"Awww," Quince said quietly, and moved aside to let them have some space. Ah, romance. "You kids have a good time."

Marcus gave Quincy a wink and made a shushing noise while grinning at the man. "I couldn't have her finding out about us man, misdirection. Work with me."

Yeah, okay, so the redhead was a goof. Surprise. His attention shifted when he heard Ambria and then caught sight of her. Marcus' grin only widened as she squeezed him, his arms slipping around her in a much gentler embrace. "Hey, Bria..." He did turn his head and press a kiss to her temple though. "Missed you too."

Marcus was playing with her bright pink hair by the time he was leading her down the steps and towards the cab, "No more black, huh? I like. I like a lot."

Of course he did, it was his favorite color once more. He opened the door of the cab and waved his hand at the interior. "After you, pretty girl."

"Figured I'd turn it back to pink and just keep it that way a while- cheaper to keep touching it up than to keep redying it every time I get tired of the color..."

Ambria wasn't going to worry about money tonight though- she'd already promised herself that she'd stop thinking about all that at least for the day. Marcus was back, and they were going on their very first date. Definitely not time to worry about anything but enjoying the evening. Besides, the way Marcus was playing with her hair was making it hard to focus on anything but the boy anyhow.

And that reminded her - she had something for him. Right before she got into the cab, she turned to him.

"And this is for you, sweet boy" she said, offering over the bracelet with a smile. "Before I forget to give it to you- I'd look silly holding on to this all night."

She slipped the rest of the way into the cab and moved over to make room for him.

Sliding in next to her, Marcus placed the bracelet around his wrist before taking the time to admire it. "Thank you. It's pretty cool that you make this stuff, you know."

It was also kinda neat that he could see his reflection, albeit distorted somewhat, in the buffed and polished surface.

"If you ever get the urge for Electric Lizard, let me know. I still have a bunch of it under the sink. Pretty sure Da would be happy if I got rid of it." There was one morning in particular that the elder puca had declared Marcus' tresses far too loud and had been tempted to use a bit of a glamour to turn them back to their proper red. "What color is your hair, anyway? I mean under the pink."

He was twirling a section of her hair around his index finger, his arm casually around her shoulders. At least that's what he wanted her to think. Marcus had the habit of always doing something to distract himself when in a car and he couldn't very well sit next to her and play with his phone so...her hair it was ( ... )
