im sorry that you dont enjoy eating. i hate the aspect of cooking, but eating is something i very much enjoy. (and i love good food.) i am also very sorry that you don't enjoy potatoes. (but i can offer you lots of chocolate.)
i cant think of anything worse than a full time IV. except perhaps continuous dental work. needles or drills, which is worse? although i do understand your reason for not wanting to eat. but then, its just one more reminder from God that we are dependant creatures... isnt it? (unlike needles and drills, which are purely instruments of torture.)

Temporary IVs are awful, because they look so fragile, and I always fear that they run the risk of catching on something and being yanked out. (Ouch!) And they look so nasty on the backside of your wrist. But I know people with diabetes who have a permanent IV pump in their sides. It is hidden away very well, and the injection pump can be worn on a belt at the hip. Such a setup might be worth it for me if I could avoid the need to eat and thus convert eating into a pleasure separate from a need, which is really the core issue for me. Perhaps I will do an entry on pleasures vs. needs later....
