Rule #1. You must protect yourself.

That is what I learned on my first day in the internal medicine rotation. Document everything so you do not get sued. My preceptor got sued. But he won. 

In 11.5 hours I see my first real patient. My first real sick patient. Getting to this point in the past 8 months has been very revealing. I am less so sure of things now but more calm .
