Vash wants to contact Jennifer and try to help her. While I commend his plan, I believe that since Fenrir is offering to help - and I am going to contact him myself - a plan should be formulated as soon as we can manage it.

I know you've been discussing it more than I have. Any input you can offer, or information ( Read more... )

You have my aid. In whatever capacity I am required.

Thank you. It will probably be for protecting the lure once it's in Carnival, but I will let you know for sure soon.

Works for me. I will not allow any harm to come to them.

You have my word.

[It takes a lot for Andrew to do this, but he figures the Scoobies would be so disappointed in him if they ever found out he avoided helping to save people. He's just feel guilty.]

I--I, uh... want to help. Somehow. I don't have much... I mean, no super powers or anything. And I don't know if the talents I do have will be useful, but... b-but I want to help!

[GO ANDREW.]

Any help will be good. Right now I just need volunteers, but I will have a more cohesive plan in place as soon as I can.

That said... Fenrir did mention that she is a child. Is there anything that you think might be able to scare her or make her follow us without her harming someone?

[Child? Hey, that's kind of like Andrew.] Well, uhm... kids like games. Or, uh, songs. And pretty things. And other kids.

But things to... scare her? Loud noises... Uhm. Big, threatening things? Demons? There's a lot that scares kids, I don't know. [He doesn't often think about how to scare children.]

[She listens, mulling it over.]

I will take that into consideration. And I will contact you once we have a concrete plan.

Sabriel, I am Rfena. And yes, I was. He has his own ideas about how to stop Jennifer, and I have mine.

Defensive spell work would be helpful, as would the mark. Can I ask about what these marks might be able to do should she contact them, and the type of contact required?

One large group has its merits, but I was thinking of several smaller groups. Most likely a lure, with someone to guard it or report if the lure fails, and a back up of that group. We'll also need several people in the mouth of Carnival or just inside it, so that we can close the doors and hold them.

The hard part, as always, is finding and luring her. There is always going to be a high risk in approaching her, but I want to find the thing that Fenrir said would work. His best clue seemed to be that she is a child, and holds her pet dog dear. I'm hoping another dog-like creature works; perhaps the bones of her dog would be better, but I cannot see anyone being able to get close enough to grab them at this point. And they would need to be able to move fast.

The local Fenrir sounds like Jabor reborn. That's a maw that I could go a thousand years without seeing again.

Why should everyone band together against this little girl?

[Bartimaeus does not see the point of joining forces, ask any Kitty Jones. The personal benefit has not dawned on him as he has spent most of his time since arrival as a blob in his room, vegging blobbing out.]

[Oh ho ho, a new voice.]

This little girl has killed several of the passengers, and her release has made several decks on the boat dangerous to travel. While she is out, the boat is harder to move about, and more people get killed by the things she has released.

If she's sealed away, it should go back to normal.

Dangerous to whom, exactly.

[Scepticism equal get.]

This ship is filled with big boys and girls, isn't it? They must understand that sometimes a little girl has to die so they can sleep at night. Why involve a wolf at all.

Everyone. There is - or was - a doctor in the resturaunts that was implanting jewels into people and making them aggressive. There are balls that, when touched, cause people to act with a lowered intelligence. Many more dangers, and they effect all of us. Even the most skilled warriors.

[Lol.]

If we could easily kill the girl, that would have been done once she was let out. But she's strong with her mind, and is very frightened. She lashes out quickly.

Others have made a point that she is just a little girl, but until we can contain her we cannot help her in any way.

If no one's planning to attack her until she gets to this Carnival, then I think you probably want me quelling her suspicions rather than locking up her mind.

Attacking her seems like the worst choice until we have her well into Carnival. If you have the ability to quell her suspicions, that would be very helpful. Hopefully she'd be less likely to attack the lure then, and more likely to follow it.

Emotional manipulation is a much subtler technique, and one that it takes training to spot.

[The Rowan's been doing it to people since she was a little kid.]

[Rfena's tone holds admiration, of a sort.]

And this girl doesn't seem the type to have the same training as you. Mental, I am assuming.

Even if it only works for a short while, we only need it to work long enough.
