If they replaced Persona Grata, what happened to the other Pets?

Okay - they're okay! Remember - me mentioning Hybrids?
When User Friendly took over, Persona Grata was - thinking about removing them. But a lot of people who used to own Pets, and another group - were upset about that. A lot of Pets ended up - in a really bad place, kind of like a camp, for awhile, and some were in hiding, but they eventually got their rights. [It only took fifty years :/]
So the Pets ended up - colonizing another planet, and being called Hybrids. They're pretty - pretty accepted in my time.

[Another laugh, though this one sounds a little tired. This kind of relief is a little mindblowing, and it's making him realize just how much it really hurt him to think about having all his brothers and sisters born to be slaves.]

Do th-they--uhm--we don't all have agoraphobia anymore, r-right? B-Breeding's open and--and all that? No m-more...culturing?
Can Pets f-fight humans that hurt them? Can they g-go into public buildings and--I know you s-said they have their own p-planet but a-are the ones off the planet tr-treated okay? They can l-leave the planet? It's not like a--a really big concen--concentration camp?

No more agoraphobia, not really. They get to choose who to marry and have kids with, and they get to raise the kids themselves.
If a human hurts a Pet - I'm used to calling them Hybrids, sorry - then the Hybrid can fight back, same as everyone else. The attacker has to go to trial and all that stuff, too.
They went to the planet because some people weren't okay with them, initially, but by my time everyone's alright with it, and they can go back and forth to Earth or the other colonies. Some don't even live on the planet anymore - and they can totally go into public places! Hybrids are normal now. There are even humans and Hybrids that get married and stuff.
