This was quite interesting and enjoyable story. I liked what you did with Eames' character, the amount of thought you put into his back story in order to portray him troubled and prickly and just a little bit self destructive. My favorite part of the story was definitelly the forging, both the explanation as to him being the best at his job (self loathing as his "motivation" was interesting approach) and descriptions of putting on a forge itself, the knot in his back was maybe what I liked the most out of all the details ( ... )

Thank you. I'm impatient thus no beta. I'll take a look for more spelling. It's true, I went over it 5 times and will still miss things because I know the story.
Thanks for the input! I was definitely struggling maintaining who's point of view I was focusing on in this story.

Excellent. Love the reason for Eames' feelings of worthlessness, and how Arthur bucks them up. Love the mutual respect and admiration, and the repeated "Point Man" :)

I thought it helped define their relationship more. Like they can still be snarky even when something serious is going down. Much like in the movie when they joke as Eames is put under into the 3rd level.

okay, first of all, your tag = win!
I enjoyed this story. The way you had Eames dealing with grief and pushing people away and then finding out in the end that it wasn't his fault ... I'm such a sucker for happy endings and so happy that this story ended on a sweet note.

I really enjoyed reading this because you put quite a lot of thought into the back story and your ideas went very well with your Eames' characterisation.
