Art for the spn_j2_bigbang challenge.
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters: Dean, Sam, John, Mary, Jess, Ava & Jo
Rating: G. The story is Wincest. The art is Gen. (I got distracted by the pretty costumes, OK?) For aeroport-art's intriguing story,"The Telegram" - a Sam/Dean AU, set in San Francisco in 1910. aeroport-art has drawn beautiful art for the story, too. Story post is here
Sam thinks he's alone in the world. Dean is the mysterious guy who keeps crossing his path. Sam doesn't realise just how changed his life will be. The building behind them is where Sam has his lodgings, and is a real building in SF (Did I mention aeroport-art is the Queen of Research? She found me references to use *g*). The cover design is based on the recent Penguin Classics range, & the font is a Western Union telegram font from the 1920s. Forgot to add: beta by ileliberte and crysothemis. Thanks to both for lots of very helpful advice.
The portrait of Mary is her Carte de Visite, taken just before her death. The portrait of John is from later in the story, but I wanted them together, here, as a diptych.(Click on the images to go through to the full size pictures).
Finally, because both aeroport-art and I are costume geeks, the 3 girls at Ava's wedding reception. All gowns (and jewelry) based on extant examples from the era. The background is the Fairmont Hotel Ballroom (simple photomanip from a period photo).
