Dogs are housed in a kennel, cats in a cattery, horses in a stable, and cattle in a barn; so what do you call a place where you keep dragons?

stories, fun stuff

Caves.

Dragons are not social creatures!

Added: Now that I think of it, why would you keep a dragon anyway? They can eat you!!!!!

Because you're an evil sorceress who uses them to eat *other* people :)

Well, if it's an evil character, then they must have a cool lair or other sort of dwelling place that is protected by natural elements to keep random interlopers out. Just install a cave in the backyard, and you're set!

A possible solution to the nomenclature question could be found in the Eragon series.

Now, back to watching more YouTube videos about CH kittens!

She's got a castle surrounded by a wood that's home to her goblin army... But a cave system in the back yard would be doable ^_^

...

Good question.

*walks away*

lol
Actually: here's a little dragon terminology, tho it doesn't answer your question, and it doesn't include the words "fewmets" or "drive of dragons", both of which I think are elementary dragontine words. :P Also: anybody can kill a dragon. Takes a woman to tame one!

What does "fewmets" mean?

"sign". originally used for deer droppings, the term "fewmets" was used in TH White's "The Once and Future King" and subsequently in Madeline L'Engle's "Wind in the Door" to particularly refer to the droppings of dragons.

((Lol woops forgot to sign in))
Ooh, that's a good term to know when writing about dragons.

Anyways, the reason I asked the original question is that in the story I'm working on, I've got an evil sorceress who keeps dragons.

... It is my world, though, so I could just make something up *g* seems like that's how a lot of animal terminology comes about anyway lol

Of course, having a shrinkable dragon would probably lead to conversations like "Is that a dragon in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

I couldn't resist!

I don't keep a dragon under my bed, but I do keep an imaginary T-Rex there, who I periodically dress up in pink ribbons. He doesn't approve!
