"Don't be an idiot, Hardison," I say.
"What?" he asks, has he no idea?
"Sophie was still in there." Nate and her go back, way back, I know this. He still needs her, and she maybesorta needs him. Doesn't matter.
I'm here, and I'm sticking near. Keeping near. Whatever the word, I'm doing it.
Not for Sophie. She's not evil, not like horses (which aren't as murderous as I thought, but they're still evil), but she's Sophie.
I don't mind Nate being with Sophie - I used to always turn to my bunny for comfort and conversation too. My stuffed bunny. I know he wasn't alive, couldn't talk. Same principle though as here.
Nate'll look up every now and then, and see me. So I know one day he'll come over and...damn, I'm going to have to find a dress for the date, won't I?
That's in the future, but I know it'll come to pass.
I know he will.
After all, I don't sleep with my bunny anymore.
