Just Iraq

I mentioned in the “Sunday Verse 6″ post about the idea of a “just war.”  In my opinion, our entry into Iraq in 2003 was appropriate - a “just war” as the saying goes - and it may be the only war in all of history that was initiated based upon conditions that both sides had agreed to in advance. It's something we have not yet begun to understand, I think.

I agree with your take - the theater of war was dreadfully mismanaged. For fear of irking Iraq's neighbors they did not control their theater boundaries - a deadly error.

My own speculation is that the war was gestural - symbolic, in a way - in motivation. This is not to say it was not allowable by treaty. It was.
