Ize sorta curious... you're the only person I know who calls him Usama... is that a subtle thumbing-him-off sort of thing? :D hehheh! (maybe such as the way Jay Leno calls Ahmedinajad "Ahmenutjob"....!)

No. His name is Usama bin Ladin in one Western transliteration of the Arabic that is often considered most official and accepted. Americans, and eventually British and others, began transliterating the name as "Osama," just as the Qur'an became the "Koran" in Americanized Romanized Arabic ( ... )

I was wondering what you and your informed audience thought of this youtube video. It is allegedly from the 'Memri TV' project of an alleged preacher allegedly in Al-Aqsa mosque.

The scene suggests that this particular fellow -- who is not dressed as a traditional imam -- is shouting at passers-by. On that basis, he is not much of a threat.

But I have heard this same sort of rhetoric from their podiums, and from their spiritual leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi who has weekly audience of sixty million people. THAT is a threat.

Incidentally, MEMRI has been attacked by the left for distortions. These point out problems so minor, and so subjective, that they demonstrate that MEMRI actually does a stellar and reliable job at these translations.

The attackers are left with complaining that some MEMRI people used to work for Mossad, as if working for an intelligence-gathering organization renders you unqualified to know what people in other countries are saying.
